My favorite bedtime meditations
If you struggle to slow your child down before sleep, a meditation at bedtime may be just what you’re looking for.
I have encouraged families to use meditations for many years. We want a meditation that is designed specifically for little ones. Meditating can be hard, so we want something designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers.
You may find a mediation helps your child relax and unwind as part of their bedtime routine.
Here are my favorites –
- Insight Timer. I have used Insight Timer for many years; they have a fantastic selection of sleep meditation for children and adults. The app is available for iPhone and Android and is free.
-
Moshi: Sleep & Mindfulness. Doris’s World of Knitting. Doris is a Moshling Plotamus who loves knitting. This sounds like the perfect sleepy bedtime story. This is from Moshi (they also have an app) on YouTube. Perfect for listening (not watching) and is free.

Relax Kids are the first meditations I found specifically designed for kids. I can’t even remember how many years ago that was. I have always loved their sleep meditations and wept with joy when they became available as MP3’s.
