About Me

I love my job; I adore helping those who are having a tough time with their child’s sleep gain clarity and confidence to make the changes needed to gently support their child and help them learn the skills they need to get themselves to sleep as well as back to sleep during the night.

Back in the 1900s, I grew up in England; I loved working with families and did so in many different capacities.

In early 2001, my husband and I moved to Brazil. We left Englandshire with four suitcases and planned on being there for a year. Four years later, we left Brazil with so many boxes, oh, and two kids.

We moved back to England for a little, then to the USA, finally settling in Seattle. I am never ever moving ever again, ever!

When my kids were little, and my husband worked crazy long hours as a flight test engineer (don’t ask me what he does, it’s something to do with aeroplanes), I thought it would be the perfect time to start a business.

I started my business helping families find solutions. I helped with toddler tantrums, potty training, and so much more. Quickly I realized that families were really struggling with sleep. Many didn’t know that they had sleep struggles. A toddler having so many tantrums a day has a much easier time when we can help them get more than 5 hours of sleep a night.

That’s when I shifted to working with sleep.

I was one of two children’s sleep consultants on the west coast.

Since then, I have worked with 100’s of families from all over the world. I’ve developed my own gentle sleep training technique, The Michi Method, where parents pick up their children whenever they need to and soothe them however they need to.

One size doesn’t fit all

One thing I realized having a 14 month age gap between my children is that each child has a unique sleep personality. When we work with your child’s sleep personality, we work at a pace that works for them, use techniques that will work, and have a real understanding of how they will sleep.
